May, 27, 2025. TTWCA visits Bura, and Mbulia Primary Schools, taking environmental education directly to the hearts and minds of young learners as part of our school outreach program.
Pupils from the schools’ Environmental and Wildlife Clubs actively participated in engaging sessions focused on understanding their natural environment, the importance of ecosystems, and the urgent need to protect wildlife.
They explored the wonders of the natural world and discovered the vital roles ecosystems play in providing food, water, shelter, and space for all living beings to thrive.
In this program, we continue to place a special focus on giraffes, iconic yet increasingly threatened animals that hold both ecological and cultural significance. With the support from Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF), an NGO exclusively dedicated to the conservation and management of giraffes in the wild across Africa, students also received informative reading materials to deepen their understanding of conservation efforts.
To date, we have successfully conducted similar outreach programs in the following primary and Junior schools: Rukanga, Marungu, Kamtonga, Maktau, Miasenyi, Njukini and Kishushe with Bura and Mbulia being our most recent visits.
Through these educational efforts, we aim to nurture a generation of environmentally conscious young leaders.
By empowering students with knowledge and inspiring a sense of stewardship, we’re laying the foundation for a future where communities work together to safeguard the planet.
