earthranger-training-ttwca-2025

Feb, 28, 2024. Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association and TTWCA, with support from The Nature Conservancy in Africa, conducted a three-day technical capacity-building workshop for conservancy managers and rangers.

The training aimed to enhance the skills of the managers and rangers in selecting accurate, accessible, and actionable ecological data.

It also sort to provide specialized training on the EarthRanger tool to improve conservation management across member conservancies.

A key focus of the workshop is to strengthen the development and implementation of management plans across the Tsavo landscape.

By leveraging EarthRanger technology, conservancies will be better equipped to:

  • Reduce human-wildlife conflicts by fostering coexistence and improving community relations.
  • Enhance security, leading to fewer poaching incidents and improved wildlife safety.
  • Utilize real-time ecological data to inform management decisions, resulting in healthier ecosystems.
  • Improve operational efficiency by reducing downtime and maintenance costs through better logistics management.

This strategic investment in conservation ensures that conservancy managers and rangers are equipped with the latest tools and knowledge to safeguard Kenya’s natural heritage.

By integrating technology into conservation efforts, we are strengthening the long-term sustainability of the Tsavo landscape and beyond.
