Jan, 30, 2025. TTWCA in collaboration with Catalyste+ conducts a consultative stakeholders’ meeting looking forward to co-developing a business canvas for the proposed Cultural Centre in Taita Taveta County.
This initiative is a key step towards preserving community’s rich cultural heritage while unlocking new economic and tourism opportunities for local communities.
During the session, stakeholders engaged in productive discussions on:
- The vision and objectives of the Cultural Centre
- Key strategies for sustainability and community impact
- Aligning the initiative with Taita Taveta’s tourism and economic goals
- Stakeholder feedback to refine and strengthen the business model
This initiative builds on the TUI Wildlife Project’s Tourism Circuit Plan, which identified the community cultural center as a critical component in enhancing local tourism experiences and improving livelihoods.
This center will serve as the hub for cultural and artistic expression, economic empowerment, and immersive tourism experiences, where visitors can engage with local traditions, arts, and crafts.
The valuable insights and commitment by all the stakeholders in attendance, reconfirm a shared vision for a thriving cultural and tourism sector in Taita Taveta.
With continued collaboration, we look forward to bringing this vision to life and ensuring the Cultural Centre becomes a sustainable and impactful community asset.
The County Government of Taita Taveta’s Department of Trade, Tourism, Culture, and Industrialization CECM Getrude Shuwe was in attendance.
We stand tall championing strategic interventions in tourism development across the region.
