Aug, 6, 2025. We are thrilled to launch the Livestock Services Alliance (LISA) Project in the Tsavo Landscape, a three-year, climate-smart initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience and productivity of pastoralist communities in Kenya.
With a focus on the ranching sector, LISA seeks to deliver innovative integrated solutions that address key challenges facing livestock production.
At the heart of the project is a digital platform that will streamline vaccination and traceability, offer breeding support, and provide management and advisory services. This will be driven by a private sector-led, research-based approach and a scalable business model designed to ensure accessibility for local ranchers.
The project is driven by a dynamic alliance of partners, each bringing specialized expertise to support its success.
Geneplus Global will lead livestock genetics and breeding efforts, while Cowtribe strengthens animal health and traceability systems.
MooMe will contribute to digital farm management and advisory solutions, while Villgro Africa will support scaling innovations and knowledge sharing across stakeholders.
International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) will guide gender equality and social inclusion research, with CARE International championing gender-inclusive programming.
TTWCA will lead community coordination and policy engagement, alongside The Taita Taveta County Government, which will play a vital role in supporting local implementation.
LISA is poised to improve service delivery, boost livestock productivity and exports, and increase community resilience to climate shocks. Ultimately, the project aims to position local ranches for long-term economic and environmental sustainability
