Feb, 6, 2025. Our reafforestation initiative at Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is making remarkable strides, with the recent rains witnessed at the end of January providing perfect conditions for this cause.
Students from Taita Taveta National Polytechnic had the opportunity to participate and help intensify our efforts as we aim to reach our goal of growing 40,000 tree seedlings at the TUI Forest Kenya project site.
Since the project’s inception, over 24,300 seedlings have been successfully grown, a testament to our dedication and collective efforts with the Sanctuary, tourists, and volunteers, who have seized every opportunity available.
The sanctuary’s commitment to reafforestation continues to drive the project forward. These efforts not only promise to restore the degraded areas and ecological balance of the area but also serve as a beacon of hope for environmental conservation efforts in the landscape.
As we make progress, we call upon visitors and tourists to the sanctuary, both local and international to join hands, plant a tree, and leave a green footprint.
Together, we aim to restore the area, one tree at a time, ensuring a greener and healthier future for posterity.
