TTWCA signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Taita Taveta County Government establish a formal framework for collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable development and community empowerment in the county by strengthening conservancies, community lands, and ranches within the county.
The partnership aims to enhance environmental conservation and restoration to build a resilient ecosystem and support climate adaptation, as well as improving livelihoods by diversifying income opportunities, promoting equitable benefit-sharing, and strengthening governance within these community institutions.
Further, it will foster better communication and collaboration with local communities in Taita Taveta County, ensuring their active involvement in activities that enhance their well-being.
In the next five years, both parties will work together to secure joint funding and resources, maximizing their collective impact on natural resource management and community development.
This new alliance marks a milestone in the broader movement toward community-centered conservation and sustainable development, signaling hope for the future of both the county’s natural resources and its people.
